ABC has canceled the Shondaland legal drama “For the People” after two seasons, TheWrap has learned.

Set in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York (a.k.a. “The Mother Court”), the Shondaland series centered on six talented young lawyers working on opposite sides of the law.

It first debuted as a midseason replacement last year, and has since struggled to gain a foothold in the ratings. The currently airing second season is averaging just shy of three million viewers an episode, with a 0.51 rating among adult viewers under 50, according to Nielsen’s live-plus-same-day numbers.

Created and executive produced by Paul Williams Davies, “For the People” starred Britt Robertson, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Ben Rappaport, Susannah Flood, Wesam Keesh, Regé-Jean Page, Ben Shenkman, Hope Davis, Vondie Curtis-Hall and Anna Deavere Smith.

Shonda Rhimes, Betsy Beers and Tom Verica also served as executive producers on the series.
