ABC has named Jori Arancio senior vice president of communications, the network announced on Friday.

Arancio, who previously served as VP of communications at Freeform, will report directly to Kevin Brockman, Disney|ABC Television Group’s EVP of global communications, and will oversee corporate communication, consumer press campaigns, awards outreach and talent relations for ABC Entertainment and ABC Studios.

Stepping in for Hope Hartman, who left the network in September, Arancio will also work closely with both ABC Entertainment President Channing Dungey and ABC Studios president Patrick Moran.

“Having worked alongside Jori for more than a decade, I’ve witnessed first-hand her unique take on the art of communications and seen the dramatic and impressive results of her efforts,” Brockman said in a statement. “She’s an innovative thinker and a results-driven manager who excels in the social, influencer and digital communications space without losing sight of the importance of traditional media. She’s the perfect person to lead Communications for these two critical businesses.”

“This role is a privilege and I’m so grateful to Kevin, Channing and Patrick for the opportunity,” Arancio said. “I’ve had the great fortune to have worked at Disney for nearly 20 years and am thrilled to now get the chance to work alongside this incredibly talented communications team and all the immensely creative executives at ABC Entertainment and ABC Studios.”

Arancio has been with the Walt Disney Company since 1998, when she joined the company as manager, communications at Disney Channel. She has held her position as SVP at Freeform since 2011.
