ABC has renewed its extreme competition series “Wipeout” for a seventh season.

The newly ordered season will now include what’s called the “Tournament of Champions,” which will round up all the season’s winners for the ultimate title. On the new season, 24 new competitors will take on the show’s over-the-top challenges.

“We are always looking for ways to keep the show fresh and exciting,” said the show’s creator and executive producer, Matt Kunitz.  “This year, we are amping up the competition with a season long tournament of champions, with the winner from each episode returning to compete against the other winners in an epic battle for the title of Wipeout Champion.”

The seventh season will also include new special themed episodes, including a chance to win a date with the show’s co-host Jill Wagner, and the return of some of fan favorites, like “Boss & Employee.”

The Season 6 finale in September saw a 17 percent increase over the prior week (3.5 million vs. 3.0 million) and the show’s biggest audience in 3 weeks.
