Jagged little sitcom: Alanis Morissette’s life story, including her current role as a mom, will serve as the inspiration for a new single-camera comedy in the works at ABC.

“Relatable,” from Elizabeth Beckwith and showrunner Christopher Moynihan, follows a 40-something woman, married with three kids, who spent her young adult life as an international rock star, famous for her self-penned anthems of female rage and teen angst, ABC’s description reads. Now this “voice of her generation,” although deeply bonded with her family, can’t quite get the next generation living in her house to listen to her.

Morissette’s life will “loosely inform the writing and stories,” the series’ outline reads, “though all characters are fictional and non-biographical.” (Morissette, 47, and her husband, 41-year-old rapper Mario “Souleye” Treadway, have three children.)

Morissette is an executive producer on the program. She’ll also write original music for the show.

Beckwith (“The Goldbergs”), who will co-create the pilot with Moynihan (“Marlon”) and write the pilot, is the author of the comedic parenting book “Raising The Perfect Child Through Guilt and Manipulation.” She previously wrote on “Speechless.” Moynihan co-created NBC comedy “Marlon” with Marlon Wayans.

“Relatable” hails from Thruline Entertainment and Crush Music. In addition to Beckwith, Moynihan and Morissette, Willie Mercer and Ron West will serve as executive producers for Thruline, and Jonathan Daniel will serve as executive producer for Crush Music.

Morissette has won eight Grammy awards. Her Broadway show, “Jagged Little Pill The Musical,” won two Tonys.

In addition to bursting on the music scene with 1995’s “Jagged Little Pill,” which has sold more than 33 million copies, Morissette is now also known to broadcast TV fans as a judge on Fox’s “Alter Ego.”

Beckwith is represented by CAA, Thruline Entertainment and attorney Jamie Feldman. Moynihan is represented by Rothman Brecher Ehrich Livingston, Thruline Entertainment and attorney Chris Abramson. Morrissette is represented by WME, Crush Music, The Lede Company and Jacqueline Sabec.
