Ann Coulter: ‘Retard’ Jokes = Good. Cancer Jokes = Bad

Ann Coulter breaks down the new rules of comedy

Great news, aspiring pundits, comedians, and pundit-comedians: Ann Coulter is here to teach you about what is and isn't offensive in political comedy. You don't even have to go to some musty old theater, because the master is dishing out lessons for free on Twitter.

She was widely criticized by people lacking her finely calibrated gift for sniffing out what is and isn't acceptable to say. She demonstrated that gift Tuesday, when she called out Obama for saying Mitt Romney has "stage 3 Romneysia."

Since cancer is the only thing on earth that happens in stages, Coulter deduced that the president was making light of cancer and people dying from it.

"Obama: 'Stage 3 Romneysia' – because cancer references are HILARIOUS," she tweeted. "If he's 'the smartest guy in the room' it must be one retarded room."

To be clear: Coulter was being sarcastic, and doesn't think cancer jokes are hilarious at all.

Retard jokes, though? Never get old.
