Another British Game Show Heads to the U.S.

Would rename Endemol series The Million Pound Drop to The Money Drop and air it weekly

Another Briitsh game show may be headed to the U.S.

Fox has ordered a pilot from Endemol based on "The Million Pound Drop Live."

Of course, Fox would drop the "Million Pound" from the title.

On the show, which would air live weekly, contestants are given a sizable amount of cash, which they wager in various amounts as they try to answer a series of eight questions. They are given 60 seconds to select from four possible answers — and they indicate their choice by placing some of their money on a trapdoor in front of their answer.

That’s where the "drop" comes in. The trapdoors of incorrect answers are opened and any money on those is lost. As the game continues, there are fewer possible answers — and fewer trapdoors. The eighth question becomes an all-or-nothing round with only two possible answers and two trapdoors.

Endemol USA currently produces ABC summer game show "Wipeout" and in the past produced game show hits "Fear Factor" and "Deal or No Deal" for NBC.
