‘Arrow’ Season 3 First Trailer Teases Brandon Routh And a Big First Date (Video)

“Once you let the darkness inside, it never comes out,” the trailer begins ominously

Stephen Amell’s titular character Oliver Queen has been through a lot, but there’s more ups and downs to come, judging by the first trailer teasing footage from the upcoming third season of The CW’s “Arrow.”

He’s lost his mother but defeated Deathstroke, and new challenges immediately arise. Brandon Routh makes is first appearance as Ray Palmer, a rival bidder for Queen Consolidated. Comic book fans should also recognize that there’s more to Palmer than first meets the eye, as he will (probably) eventually become the DC superhero Atom.

In terms of Oliver’s personal relationships, there’s changes in store there as well. After two seasons of unresolved sexual tension, Oliver is ready to take his relationship with gal friday Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) to the next level, and asks her out for dinner.

Meanwhile, his ex Laurel (Katie Cassidy) has become his business partner, and Sara (Caity Lotz), Laurel’s sister, is back in full Canary garb despite being seen sailing off into parts unknown at the end of season 2. There’s also the shot of Roy Harper (Colton Haynes) in action as his brand new superhero alter ego, Arsenal.
