U.K.-based Global, Ashley Tabor’s music and entertainment group, has launched its U.S. division and worldwide content arm, Global Entertainment, and installed former AEG Live chief Randy Phillips as CEO, the company announced Friday.

“This is a defining moment for Global as we open our first office in the U.S. and create a new type of content company,” Tabor said in a statement. “Our goal is to redefine the possibilities for a 21st century music and entertainment company and I am thrilled to have Randy and the team on board.”

Phillips, a former artist manager, spent 13 years as CEO of AEG Live, where he promoted world tours by musicians such as Justin Timberlake, Kanye West and Prince, as well as producing festivals, television specials and concert films.

Joining Phillips are former Universal Music exec Chuck Ciongoli as EVP and CFO, Chief Creative Officer David Loeffler, business affairs executive Rand Hoffman and EVP Garnett March, who will head Urban music along with his own joint venture company “The Chemists/Global.”

Additional key staff for the new Global Entertainment U.S. division will be announced in the coming weeks, the company said.
