“Atlanta” executive producer Paul Simms has signed an overall television deal with FX Productions.

Simms will develop, write and produce television projects exclusively for FXP. He will also continue with his role on the Golden Globe-winning comedy from creator and star Donald Glover.

We’ve had a great experience working with Paul on ‘Atlanta,’” said Nick Grad, co-president of original programming for FX Networks and FX Productions. “Paul has a track record of success and we look forward to him developing new projects for FXP.”

Simms created the NBC comedy “NewsRadio” and has also written for “The Larry Sanders Show,” “Flight of the Conchords,” “Girls” and “Late Night With David Letterman.”

“Atlanta,” which is likely to be in the mix for a number of Emmys when nominations are announced Thursday, aired its Season 1 finale in November 2016. Its return was delayed until 2018 due to Glover’s busy schedule, which includes filming the Han Solo movie.

Simms is represented by CAA.
