“Bachelor in Paradise” cast members had a somber discussion on Tuesday’s episode about the production shutdown, but lots of people instead wanted to watch light-hearted variety acts.

NBC was way ahead of the competition for the night, thanks to another strong performance by the surging “America’s Got Talent.” The performance series was up 26 percent in total viewers over 2016’s first live Tuesday telecast, along with hitting a three-year high among adults 18-49.

“Paradise,” meanwhile, saw its viewership slip from Monday’s episode that launched Season 4 following a brief halt to filming in June for an investigation into allegations of misconduct.

NBC was first in ratings with a 2.3 rating/9 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and in total viewers with an average of 10.6 million, according to preliminary numbers. “America’s Got Talent” at 8 p.m. put up a 2.8/11 and 13.2 million viewers. At 10, “Hollywood Game Night” nabbed a 1.3/5 and 5.4 million viewers.

ABC was second in ratings with a 0.8/3 and third in viewers with 3.1 million. “Paradise” at 8 p.m. had a 1.1/4 and 3.8 million viewers. “Somewhere Between” followed at 10 with a 0.4/2 and 1.7 million viewers.

Telemundo was third in ratings with a 0.7/3 and fourth in viewers with 1.7 million.

CBS was fourth in ratings with a 0.6/2 and second in viewers with 5.3 million. It solely aired reruns.

Univision was fifth in ratings with a 0.5/2 and sixth in viewers with 1.436 million.

Fox was sixth in ratings with a 0.4/1 and fifth in viewers with 1.444 million, running repeats.

The CW was seventh in ratings with a 0.3/1 and in viewers with 1.1 million, airing nothing but reruns.
