Barbara Bloom, who helped lead the transition of "The Price is Right" to new host Drew Carey and the replacement of "Guiding Light" with a new "Let's Make a Deal," will leave her post as senior vice president of daytime for CBS Entertainment when her contract expires at the end of the month.
"I've had the great fortune to work with an extraordinary group of executives, producers and talent who make CBS number one in daytime," Bloom said in a statement. "With CBS Daytime teed up for success and stability for many years ahead, the timing feels right for me to make a change now and seek something different."
CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler said Bloom "artfully led CBS through several key transitions in her eight years here." They included the end of "Guiding Light," television's longest-running drama.
"Daytime is successful, profitable, refreshed creatively and has more variety of programming for our audience," she said. "We wish Barbara tremendous success wherever her talents take her."
