Barbara Walters to Interview UCSB Shooter’s Father

Elliot Rodger killed six and injured 13 before taking his own life last month

Barbara Walters may have said farewell to her longstanding gig at “The View,” but the broadcasting legend still can’t pass up weighing in on the pressing topics of the day.

Walters will interview Peter Rodger, the father of Elliot Rodger, who went on a killing spree on May 23 in Isla Vista, Calif., ABC said Monday.

The interview will air on an upcoming special edition of “20/20,” though an air date has not yet been announced. The sit-down will also air across all of ABC News’ platforms.

The younger Rodger killed six people and injured 13 others before killing himself near the University of California, Santa Barbara campus last month. He was 22.

Prior to the killings, the younger Rodger had published a number of disturbing online videos in which he discussed his hatred of females.

The elder Rodger is a Hollywood producer and photographer who served as a second unit director on “The Hunger Games.”
