Fans excited for the return of Henry Cavill‘s Superman in “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” got their first dose of Clark Kent earlier this week, and now Warner Bros. has released the first look at the return of the Man of Steel.

And he looks a lot like he did in 2013 blockbuster, “Man of Steel.” Was anybody expecting something different?

The first look at Superman arrived on Thursday, courtesy of USA Today, which interviewed director Zack Snyder about the sequel hitting theaters in 2016.

Snyder didn’t give out many details that matter, except that he’s relying on Batman’s 75-year-old reputation, so audiences will be introduced to the oldest version of the Dark Knight that they have seen on the big screen yet.

“It’s cooler to see a crusty old Batman beating the snot out of guys,” Snyder said.

And if anyone is wondering why there is a “v” in the title, and not a “vs.,” Snyder said it’s very intentional, as it will “keep it from being a straight ‘versus’ movie, even in the most subtle way.”
