Bert Salke Named President of Fox21

Former partner in Brancato/Salke at ABC Studios moves to head lower-cost scripted/reality production unit at 20th Century Fox TV

Bert Salke has been named president of Fox21, the lower-cost scripted and reality show production unit of 20th Century Fox TV, replacing Chris Carlisle, the studio confirmed to TheWrap.

Salke, whose appointment was first reported by Deadline.com, was previously a partner in production company Brancato/Salke, which until recently was based at ABC Studios.

Salke and partner Chris Brancato teamed up for the series "First Wave," which ran on what was then the Sci Fi Channel for several seasons beginning in 1999, and on the Fox drama series "North Shore." Salke also was consulting producer on the Fox series "Tru Calling."

Brancato/Salke were based at 20th TV from 2003-05 before relocating to ABC Studios, then known as Touchstone TV.

Fox21 has produced the FX hit series "Sons of Anarchy," and CW reality hit "Beauty and the Geek."

In his new role, Salke will report to 20th TV chairmen Dana Walden and Gary Newman.
