Amazon is developing a new show with “Gossip Girl” alum Blake Lively, the company announced on Wednesday.

Head of Amazon Studios Jennifer Salke announced the project at the Vanity Fair New Establishment summit, revealing that the company was close to a deal with Lively for a scripted series with a merchandising component.

It wasn’t immediately clear whether Lively would star in the project or simply be involved as a producer.

Lively, who most recently starred in the Paul Feig thriller “A Simple Favor,” hasn’t held a series regular role on a television series since starring for six seasons on The CW’s “Gossip Girl.”

She is next set to star in the spy thriller “Rhythm Section” from “The Handmaid’s Tale” director Reed Morano at Paramount.
