Brooke Shields will star in The CW pilot “Glamorous” as a model-turned-cosmetics company maven, TheWrap has learned.
The drama, executive produced by Damon Wayans Jr., centers on a gender non-conforming recent high school graduate lands the gig of a lifetime interning at a cosmetics company whose products he panned on YouTube.
Shields will star as Madolyn, a former supermodel and the founder and CEO of one of the industry’s most respected and sophisticated cosmetics company. Described as “a canny businesswoman and entrepreneur, Madolyn is at the top of the game and will stop at nothing to stay there, including making a strategic hire to be her eyes and ears within the company.”
Eva Longoria has also signed on to direct the pilot. The project marks her first pilot directing gig after helming multiple episodes of “Black-ish” and “The Mick,” as well as a number of shows she also executive produced, including “Devious Maids,” “Grand Hotel” and “Telenovela.”
Shields will be joined on screen by “iZombie” alum Jade Payton, who will play Venetia, “an ambitious young clotheshorse who serves as the trusted personal assistant to former supermodel turned entrepreneur Madolyn. Venetia is cool, smart and savvy – and deeply connected with Chicago’s queer community and nightlife, with her finger on the pulse of who and what is happening in the underground scene.”
Hailing from CBS Television Studios, “Glamorous” is written and executive produced by Jordon Nardino. Wayans is executive producer on the project, and Kameron Tarlow of his Two Shakes Entertainment banner serves as co-executive producer.
Shields is repped by UTA and Ziffren. Longoria is with CAA and Brillstein Entertainment Partners. Payton is repped by Industry Entertainment, DDO Artists Agency and attorney Chad Christopher.
