Caitlyn Jenner Calls Out Jimmy Kimmel for Mocking Her Transition (Video)

“We didn’t know what was happening! We thought you were just vain,” comedian says in response

Caitlyn Jenner was a guest on Tuesday’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” to promote her new book, “The Secrets of My Life,” and took the opportunity to confront Jimmy Kimmel about how he had previously made jokes about her transition.

“I slowly told all my children because I had just been hammered with the media for the longest time,” Jenner told Kimmel. “In fact… guys like you making some jokes…”

“We didn’t know what was happening! We thought you were just vain. We didn’t know what was going on,” Kimmel tried to explain. “Sorry about that.”

“Now he’s going to apologize!” she responded. “But I accept your apology. I don’t know if you saw, I was on Jimmy Fallon and I gave him a really hard time.”

“Well he deserves it, he said some really terrible things,” Kimmel said. “He does that a lot.”

Diane Sawyer sat down with Jenner in 2015 for an exclusive interview after longtime speculation that the newly-referred to Caitlyn, formerly Bruce Jenner, was transitioning to female, saying at the time, “For all intents and purposes, I am a woman.”

Since then, Jenner has been through a lot — and not all of her time in the spotlight has been positive. She was the subject of a lawsuit following a fatal crash on the Pacific Coast Highway (the two parties settled) and has received a considerable amount of flack for being a member of the Republican Party and for supporting Trump during the 2016 election.

Jenner’s career the past two years has been laced with criticism from members of the trans community, who don’t see her as an ally or an advocate because she supported anti-LGBTQ GOP candidates like Ted Cruz.
