Caitlyn Jenner Crash Lawsuit: Victim’s Family Wants to Know If She Was on Drugs

Former Olympian is being sued by relatives of woman who died in Malibu collision

E!

The relatives of a woman killed in a car crash involving Caitlyn Jenner earlier this year have a question for him: What were you on, anyway?

In court papers obtained by TheWrap, Dana Redmond and William Howe — the stepchildren of Kimberly Howe, who perished in the crash — hit Jenner with a barrage of questions, including whether she was under the influence of substances at the time of the collision.

“Within 24 hours of the incident did you or any person involved in the incident use or take any of the following substances: alcoholic beverages, marijuana or any other drug or medication of any kind (prescription or not)?” the papers ask.

Redmond and Howe also ask a host of other questions of the Olympic legend and reality television star, including every name she has used in the past. whether she had a driver’s license at the time of the incident and what schools she has attended.

Unfortunately it doesn’t appear that answers will be immediately forthcoming: Jenner’s responses mostly consist of objections, on pretty much the same grounds that she’s asked for the case to be tossed: Redmond and Howe are grown up and not dependent on their stepmother’s income for a living.

“[T]he requesting party is an adult stepchild living out-of-state, who was not financially dependent upon the decedent for the necessities of life, and who therefore lack standing under California law to claim damages for the alleged wrongful death of Decedent,” the objections read.

Kimberly Howe was killed in the Malibu, California, crash in February. The suit filed by her stepchildren alleges that Jenner’s vehicle hit Howe’s car, pushing it into oncoming traffic. According to the suit, her death “caused plaintiffs to suffer enormous damages and losses.” Howe and Redmond contend that Jenner was “careless and negligent” in the crash.

As reported by TheWrap last week, Jenner will not face criminal charges stemming from the crash.

Jenner passed a field sobriety test and provided a blood sample for drug and alcohol testing.
