A multi-camera comedy starring Carol Burnett has received a put pilot commitment at ABC, TheWrap has learned.

The untitled comedy comes from writer and executive producer Michael Saltzman, with Amy Poehler also to serve as executive producer through her production company Paper Kite.

The project, which centers on a family who gets to buy the house of their dreams on the condition that they must live with the current owner — who is an older actress played by 83-year-old Burnett — until she dies.

The TV veteran is best known for her long-running variety show “The Carol Burnett Show,” which originally aired on CBS from 1967 to 1978. It returned to the small screen again with nine episodes in the fall of 1991.

The series won 25 primetime Emmy Awards, and Burnett herself boasts 22 Emmy nods and six wins — including a variety-comedy series Emmy nomination for each of the 11 seasons.

Along with being the first celebrity to appear on the children’s series “Sesame Street,” Burnett appeared on comedy miniseries “Fresno,” sitcom “Mad About You,” and starred on Broadway in “Moon Over Buffalo,” for which she was nominated for a Tony Award.

More recently, she has had guest roles on “Glee,” Hot in Cleveland,” and “Curious George.”

Deadline first reported the news.
