Cate Blanchett, Charlize Theron, Hugh Jackman Set for ‘Iconoclasts’

Trio will be among the stars in the Sundance Channel’s documentary series

 Cate Blanchett, Charlize Theron and Hugh Jackman will be among those appearing in episodes of the fifth season of Sundance Channel's documentary series "Iconoclasts," which returns on Oct. 2 at 9 p.m.

The six-one hour episodes that will make up this season pairs two "creative visionaries" from different fields who come together to discuss their lives and talk about what inspires them.

Blanchett will be paired with professor and climate scientist Tim Flannery; Jackman will be paired with chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten; and Theron with primatologist Jane Goodall.

During the segments, the pairs visit each other's worlds and share their inspirations.

"Iconoclasts is unique in that it provides viewers with an inside glimpse into the real people behind the public persona," said Emil Jattne, senior brand manager, Grey Goose Entertainment, in a statement announcing the new season. Grey Goose Entertainment produces the series along with @radical media.

The fifth season will be directed by Joe Berlinger and Bruce Sinofsky.

Former pairings in the series include actor Samuel L. Jackson and basketball great Bill Russell; producer Brian Grazer and Viacom and CBS Corp. owner Sumner Redstone; actress Rene Zellweger and TV news journalist Christine Amanpour; and actor/producer Quentin Tarantino and singer Fiona Apple.
