Chris Pratt Tells the Story Behind His Remarkable First Headshot on ‘Tonight’ (Video)

Well, long story short, he got lucky

The story behind Chris Pratt‘s fantastic first headshot is as silly as the photo itself.

Once upon a time, the man that would become a franchise leading man and “SNL” host was just a 20-year-old fresh to Los Angeles who had dreams of being an actor. The problem was, he had no idea how to make it happen — hell, the kid lived in a car at the time.

Thankfully, he had a few people willing to help him get his foot in the door.

First, a friend told him that it required a headshot — “a photo of your head” — to be considered for any type of role.

That, in turn, led to a slightly risky — and ultimately very sweet and productive — interaction at a Post Office in West Hollywood, and then the birth of Douchemaster McChest, elusive showbiz legend.
