Coco’s on Twitter! (updated)

No talk show? No problem. The former NBC host moves his schtick online

Coco’s on Twitter.

Conan O’Brien, who once famously mocked the microblogging service, sent his first post-NBC tweet Wednesday.

"Today I interviewed a squirrel in my backyard and then threw to commercial. Somebody help me," he wrote.

O’Brien was introduced to the Twitterverse around 3:15 p.m. LA time Wednesday with a note from his former NBC blogger. Within an hour, he had nearly 50,000 followers.

As TheWrap first reported last week, O’Brien and his team are planning a major web presence in the months ahead. A road show is also in the works.

UPDATE: We tried to add in one of Coco’s very funny Twitter Tracker sketches from last summer, when O’Brien made fun of celebrities who spend their days tweeting. Unfortunately, the clips have been "disappeared" from both Hulu and NBC.com.

It’s as if "The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien" never existed.

On the plus side, you can still follower TwitterTracker here.
