Craig Ferguson Announces His ‘Late Late Show’ Exit (Video)

“I don’t know what I’m going to do,” Ferguson says

Craig Ferguson announced on Monday that he will be stepping down as the host of CBS’s “The Late Late Show.”

The announcement came just weeks after it was announced that Stephen Colbert will be taking over as host for the network’s “Late Show” when David Letterman exits the show next year. According to some reports, Ferguson — whose show is produced by Worldwide Pants, the company behind “Late Show” — had right of first refusal to replace Letterman.

“At the end of this year, I will be be stepping down as the host of this show …. and then I’ll do something else,” Ferguson told his audience on Monday. “Probably, I’m thinking, carpentry.”

Ferguson continued, “I don’t know what I’m going to do, but I feel like, doing this show for 10 years, that’s enough.”
