‘Criminal Minds,’ ‘Instinct’ Among 5 CBS Renewals

Network also picks up comedies “Life in Pieces” and “Man With a Plan,” as well as “Celebrity Big Brother”

CBS has renewed five of its shows, continuing the onslaught of renewals and cancellations ahead of the broadcast networks’ upfronts presentations next week.

“Criminal Minds,” “Instinct,” “Life in Pieces,” “Man With a Plan” and “Celebrity Big Brother” will all return for the 2018-19 season, the network announced on Saturday.

Perennial bubble show “Criminal Minds” will return for a 14th season, which will bring its episode total past the 300 mark. “Life in Pieces” has been picked up for a fifth season, “Man With a Plan” for its third, and both “Instinct” and “Celebrity Big Brother” will be heading into Season 2.

The decisions leave just “Code Black” and “Elementary” in limbo at the network.

“The Big Bang Theory,” “Blue Bloods,” “Bull,” “Hawaii Five-0,” “MacGyver,” “Madam Secretary,” “Mom,” “NCIS,” “NCIS: Los Angeles,” “NCIS: New Orleans,” “Ransom,” “SEAL Team,” “S.W.A.T.” and “Young Sheldon” have all previously been renewed.
