The CW has set midseason premiere dates for its new and returning series, including “Black Lightning,” “iZombie,” “Life Sentence” and “The Originals.”
The newest show in The CW’s ever-growing lineup of DC Comics adaptations, “Black Lightning” will bow on Tuesday, Jan. 16 at 9 p.m. following the return of “The Flash.”
The other new midseason offering, the Lucy Hale-led dramedy “Life Sentence,” will premiere on Wednesday, March 7 at 9 p.m. with a “Riverdale” lead-in.
“Dynasty” became The CW’s only surviving new fall offering when the network opted not to pick up “Valor” for a full season last year, but the primetime soap reboot will move to Friday nights beginning April 20, airing at 8 p.m. ahead of the final season of “The Originals.”
“Dynasty” hasn’t exactly been bathing in champagne ratings. Per Nielsen, the franchise reboot is currently averaging a 0.35 TV rating in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic, with 1.15 million total viewers per episode. To make matters worse, yes, those numbers include one week’s worth of delayed viewing.
On Tuesday nights, “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow” will move to Monday nights at 8 p.m. beginning Feb. 26, followed by the season premiere of “iZombie” at 9.
After “Black Lightning” completes its first-season run on April 17, the 9 p.m. Tuesday timeslot will be filled by “The 100” beginning April 24.
