‘Daily Show’ Host Trevor Noah on Trump Chaos: ‘We’re Learning About All of America’s Laws Because They Keep On Breaking Them’ (Video)

The Trump administration is just so educational, Noah joked on “The Daily Show” Wednesday night

While most of the late-night shows Wednesday were dominated by chatter about the possibility of Stormy Daniels being in possession of naked pictures of Donald Trump, Trevor Noah instead decided to spend the opening segment of “The Daily Show” looking at the chaos that occurred immediately after Trump tweeted about how non-chaotic everything was in his administration.

“Now look, Trump always says things that are easily disproved. But yesterday was particularly entertaining,” Noah said. “Because at 7:55 a.m., he tweeted ‘no chaos’ and then the rest of the day was nothing but chaos.”

Noah was referring to a tweet from Tuesday morning where Trump said the following: “The new Fake News narrative is that there is CHAOS in the White House. Wrong! People will always come & go, and I want strong dialogue before making a final decision. I still have some people that I want to change (always seeking perfection). There is no Chaos, only great Energy!

Unfortunately for Trump, that narrative didn’t hold up for very long because Tuesday was full of developments that ran counter to it, with Kellyanne Conway being dinged for an ethics violation for violating the Hatch Act, economic adviser Gary Cohn quitting his job, and porn star Stormy Daniels filing suit against Trump, saying he didn’t actually sign the much-discussed agreement that had prevented Daniels from opening talking about her alleged sexual relationship with Trump.

“To recap, in the 12 hours after the ‘everything is fine’ tweet,” Noah said later in the segment. “A senior counselor busted breaking the law; a senior adviser said ‘eff this, I’m out’; and a senior citizen apparently forgot to sign the hush money contract with his porn star mistress.”

Noah had a particularly good zinger for “evil Disney stepmom” Conway.

“I always thought Kellyanne Conway being on TV was a crime. I just didn’t know I was right,” Noah joked.

But Noah did have one compliment to pay the Trump administration in the wake of the Conway situation: watching all this play out has been very educational.

“The Hatch Act? I didn’t know that was a thing. But that’s what’s great about the Trump administration,” he said. “We’re learning about all of America’s laws because they keep on breaking them. By the end of Trump’s term, we’re all gonna be legal scholars.”
