‘Dark Knight Rises’ Tickets Go On Sale in Less Than a Week (Updated)

Christopher Nolan's third and final Batman movie will be a hit at the box office when it opens on July 20. The question is: how big?

“The Dark Knight Rises” fans have less than a week until they can bum rush the box office. Movietickets.com will begins presales for Christopher Nolan’s upcoming blockbuster June 11, and you can bet those tickets will sell out quickly.

Nolan’s previous release in the trilogy, “The Dark Knight,” grossed $158.4 million in its first weekend — then a record for a three-day weekend.

Anticipation is running high for the third and final film, which stars Christian Bale as the Caped Crusader, Anne Hathaway as Catwoman and Tom Hardy as Bane. Warner Bros. will open the film July 20. 

Movietickets.com expects a larger percentage of purchases from mobile this time around, in keeping with its recent metrics.

Of all transactions on the site from January to May of 2012, 19 percent have occurred via a mobile device – a 61 percent increase over the same period in 2011.
