David Letterman Doesn’t Know If It’s OK to Talk About ‘House of Cards’ Premiere Spoilers Either (Video)

Guest Kate Mara isn’t afraid to drop some major spoilers, though — even if “there are a lot of slow polks out there”

TheWrap asked “House of Cards” fans earlier this week, “When are we allowed to talk about that huge thing that happened” in the Season 2 premiere? And David Letterman wasn’t sure what protocol was, either, when actress Kate Mara swung through “The Late Show” on Tuesday.

“I know something about the Season 2 of ‘House of Cards.’ I never know whether I’m supposed to say things or not say things,” Letterman told Mara, who plays journalist Zoe Barnes on the drama. “So if you have anything you want to say. You say it.”

Mara did say it, in so many words. But in the event that somebody reading this doesn’t want to hear them, it’s better to just let those that do — who most likely did their homework over President’s Day weekend — watch the interview (above).

“Chances are, people that watch the show know,” Letterman said. “But I don’t want to be the one. I don’t want to be that guy.”

“I think I was just that guy, so I apologize,” Mara added. “All you gotta do is watch the first episode, and you’ll know what we’re talking about.”

Yes, that’s right. All you have to do is watch one episode.

And watch it fast, because remember: It didn’t take that long for the entire world to find out what happened to Walter White in the season finale of “Breaking Bad.”
