“Days of our Lives” star Freddie Smith is experiencing some real-life drama of his own.

Smith, who plays Sonny Kriakis on the NBC soap, has been charged with felony vehicular assault and misdemeanor driving under the influence stemming from an October car crash in Ohio, the Associated Press reports.

The actor had a blood-alcohol level of .093, above Ohio’s legal limit of .08, authorities told the AP.

Smith crashed his car after losing control of it while navigating a curve in Ashtabula County, Ohio, landing in a culvert. Smith’s car flipped over during the single-car accident.

While Smith sustained minor injuries in the crash, his girfriend, actress Alyssa Tabit, was reportedly left in critical condition by the crash.
