Showtime president David Nevins says a "Dexter" spinoff could happen, and announced an overall two-year deal with "Dexter" showrunner Scott Buck to keep him with the network when the series ends.
Asked about a spinoff at the Television Critics Association summer press tour Tuesday, he replied, "We announced a deal with Scott Buck today. Draw your own conclusions."
He also said Showtime won't be spoiling any details about the "Dexter" finale later this year — because the resolution of the series sells itself.
Buck, a five-time Emmy nominee, signed on as the showrunner of "Dexter" in 2010 after serving as an executive producer. His other credits include "Six Feet Under," "Rome" and "Everybody Loves Raymond."
The announcement of Buck's new deal came soon after the network celebrated the show with a "Dexter"-themed lunch, complete with staged murders and cupcakes caked with fake blood.
