Donald Trump Attacks Hillary Clinton for Playing ‘Women’s Card’
The Republican candidate continues attack on Democratic rival Hillary Clinton and her husband, also saying the former president has a “terrible record of women abuse”
Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump stepped up his attack on Hillary Clinton on Monday, accusing his Democratic opponent of “playing the women’s card” while characterizing her husband, former president Bill Clinton, as an abuser.
“If Hillary thinks she can unleash her husband, with his terrible record of women abuse, while playing the women’s card on me, she’s wrong!” Trump tweeted Monday.
It’s the latest in a string of barbs aimed at both Clintons after Hillary Clinton’s interview in the Des Moines Register last week criticized Trump for saying she got “schlonged” in the 2008 Democratic primary.
Saturday, the GOP frontrunner twisted Hillary Clinton’s language about her opponent’s “penchant for sexism” with a tweet that accused Bill Clinton on the same.
Bill Clinton was impeached during his presidency in 1998 on charges perjury and obstruction of justice charges related to an affair he had with staffer Monica Lewinsky, but he was acquitted by the Senate. Though Bill Clinton has faced several lawsuits alleging sexual misconduct, he has never been charged with a crime of that nature.
