Donald Trump Swaps Insults With ‘Boring’ John Oliver for Calling Him ‘Open Book’
”John Oliver had his people call to ask me to be on his very boring and low rated show. I said ‘NO THANKS’ Waste of time & energy!“ candidate writes on Twitter
Donald Trump doesn’t care that John Oliver doesn’t want to have him on “Last Week Tonight.” He doesn’t want to be on the HBO show anyway.
One day after John Oliver told “CBS This Morning” that he wouldn’t be interested in inviting Donald Trump to his weekly series, “Last Week Tonight,” the presidential candidate fired back on Twitter Saturday, saying that he had actually been contacted to be on the show, but turned it down.
“John Oliver had his people call to ask me to be on his very boring and low rated show,” the GOP firebrand wrote. ‘I said ‘NO THANKS’ Waste of time & energy!”
During an appearance on “CBS This Morning” on Friday, Oliver had expressed disinterest in real estate mogul turned politician. “I don’t really care about him in any capacity,” he said.
According to the comedian, Trump would have nothing new or interesting to say on the show. “He’s an open book,” he said. “That book doesn’t have that many interesting words in it. It’s not like you’re going to find the secret nugget he has been holding back.”
