If Donald Trump has to exit the next season of "Celebrity Apprentice" to run for president, NBC is prepared to replace him — but doesn't want to, network entertainment president Bob Greenblatt says.
Speaking to reporters about NBC's fall schedule Sunday, Greenblatt said the network would replace Trump if necessary, but that he hoped Trump would be available.

Sounding very politically astute himself, Greenblatt said Trump has every right to seek higher office and he was happy to see anyone do so.
"We're hoping that he's back with us," Greenblatt said of Trump. But he said that if that's not the case, "There will be somebody else sitting at the head of the boardroom table."
Greenblatt didn't name any potential replacements.
"Celebrity Apprentice" is scheduled to return Sundays at 8 p.m. in mid-season.
