Donald Trump Slams Time Magazine for ‘Person of the Year’ Snub

Donald Trump is not happy with Time Magazine’s pick for 2015’s Person of the Year.

“I told you TIME Magazine would never pick me as person of the year despite being the big favorite,” he tweeted early Wednesday. “They picked person who is ruining Germany.”

Time named German Chancellor Angela Merkel as its Person of the Year on Wednesday.

Merkel, in her 10th year as the leader of Germany, was chosen for her “steadfast moral leadership in a world where it is in short supply.”

“Not once or twice but three times there has been reason to wonder this year whether Europe could continue to exist, not culturally or geographically but as a historic experiment in ambitious statecraft,” Time wrote about the continent’s tumultuous year.

Twitter users responded to Trump’s tweet, one writing, “TIME won’t pick you ’cause you’re a pathetic, weak, irrelevant, whiny bag of hatred & ignorance. You’re worst, not best,” while another wrote, “Why hasn’t someone sucker punched you in the face yet?”
