Doug Vaughan Promoted to NBC’s EVP of Special Programs and Late Night Programming

Vaughan to oversee "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," in addition to previous oversight of “SNL," "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" and "Last Call with Carson Daly."

Doug Vaughan has been promoted to NBC's executive vice president of special programs and late night programming, a job that will give him oversight of "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno."

Vaughan, who already oversees "Saturday Night Live," "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" and "Last Call with Carson Daly," will continue to report to Paul Telegdy, NBC's president of alternative and late night programming.

Vaughan will be responsible for NBC’s specials and will now serve as a liaison between its news and entertainment divisions.

Vaughan recently oversaw the "Hurricane Sandy: Coming Together" telethon and "The Golden Globe Awards," which claimed the highest "Golden Globes" ratings results in six years.

Vaughan has served as senior vice president of special programs and late night since November 2011. He was previously senior vice president of special programs and alternative, beginning in 2007.
