Très catastrophique! Faced with impossible decisions in her workplace and personal life, Lily Collins’ marketing savant and French transplant in “Emily in Paris” opts to drown her sorrows in rosé and find escape in (gasp!) impulsively cut bangs in a first look at the popular Netflix series’ third season, which will debut Dec. 21, the streamer revealed Saturday.
“Emily, no!” her bestie, Mindy (Ashley Park), exclaims as she stumbles onto the tragic scene, where an exceedingly distraught Emily has chopped off an uneven fringe. (You can watch the clip above)
In a separate clip, Emily — not at all defensively or shrilly — declares in response to whether she’s doing all right, “They’re just bangs, OK?! Sometimes, people cut bangs when everything’s fine!” (The moment arguably rivals Sydney Sweeney’s line delivery in “Euphoria” Season 2, where her character yells that she has “never ever been happier.”)
The Season 2 finale of Netflix’s fizzy comedy saw Emily at a crossroads: She could either remain loyal to Savoir, the international company she made the move to Paris for in the first place, or join a bright team spearheaded by Sylvia (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu), her begrudging boss-turned-mentor.
Then there’s all the messy love triangle drama: When Alfie (Lucien Laviscount) proposed a long-distance relationship and renewed his commitment to Emily, the latter uncovered her dormant feelings for Gabriel (Lucas Bravo), only to find out that he’s since rekindled his romance with Camille (Camille Razat).
The hit show, from creator and showrunner Darren Star (“Sex and the City”), has already been renewed for Season 4.
