The Emmys slipped to a record low 11.9 million total viewers on Sunday, when it battled for eyeballs against the solid “Sunday Night Football.”

In the key 18-49 demographic, the best-of-TV event netted a 3.6 rating, which is down 14 percent from last year’s 4.2. Of course, the 2014 awards show aired on NBC on a Monday in August — so not against TV’s top primetime broadcast like last night’s.

While maybe not such a ratings smash hit, the 67th Emmy Awards accounted for more than 1 million tweets, which were viewed over 188 million times.

The most social minute on the platform came at 10:47 p.m. ET, as 12,601 tweets were sent after Viola Davis won the Emmy for Lead Actress in a drama.
