USA has given a straight-to-series order to “Eyewitness” from “Shades of Blue” creator Adi Hasak, the network announced on Tuesday.

The 10-episode drama is an adaptation of the Norwegian series “Øyevitne,” and follows two innocent teenage boys who bear witness to a shooting when they secretly meet up in the forest, barely escaping with their lives.

“Eyewitness,” from Universal Cable Productions, comes from EP/showrunner Hasak. Jarl Emsell Larsen will also serve as executive producer.

“Norway’s incredible show ‘Eyewitness’ follows a horrific crime story through the unlucky and unlikely eyes of two innocent witnesses,” Dawn Olmstead, EVP, Development, Universal Cable Productions said in a statement. “It’s a bone chilling thrill ride that not only exposes the details of a crime, but also the secrets of the witnesses who watched. When Adi brought this to UCP, we immediately knew we had to be involved.”

The pickup follows the network’s announcement last week that “Falling Water,” a new fantasy drama from Gale Anne Hurd (“The Walking Dead”), Blake Masters (“Brotherhood”) and Henry Bromell (“Homeland”), was picked up to series.
