Rory Albanese is returning to the Comedy Central fold.

Albanese, the former showrunner for “The Daily Show With Jon Stewart,” has signed on to executive produce “The Minority Report With Larry Wilmore,” which will take the 11:30 p.m. timeslot currently held by “The Colbert Report” when Stephen Colbert exits to host CBS’s “Late Show.”

Albanese, who joined “The Daily Show” in 1999 and served as executive producer from 2009 to 2013, left the series last year in favor of a development deal with Warner Bros. Television.

Starring “Daily Show” correspondent Larry Wilmore, “The Minority Report” promises to deliver a comedic take on the day’s news from a perspective largely missing in the current late night landscape. It will feature a diverse panel of voices currently underrepresented in comedy and television. More details will be revealed at a later date.
