Fox News Network and Leftfield Pictures have settled their lawsuit over a scrapped reality series, the two companies announced Wednesday.
In a joint statement issued, the companies announced that they had reached an “amicable” agreement, though details of the settlement remain confidential.
“Leftfield Pictures of NY, LLC and Fox News Network, LLC today announced an amicable and confidential settlement concerning their litigation filed in the Supreme Court of New York,” read the joint statement. “No party has admitted any wrongdoing or liability and there has not been any court finding as to the merits of the lawsuit.”
“The parties have also agreed not to make any additional comments about the terms of the settlement. Leftfield and Fox News hope to work together in the future,” the statement continued.
The breach of contract suit, filed by Leftfield in June, claimed that Fox Business, which is owned by Fox News Network, failed to pay the production company despite ordering 26 episodes of a new reality series based on a family that runs lucrative estate sales.
A countersuit from Fox News Network argued fraud by Leftfield, saying the company did not produce the cast of characters it promised, including a “traditional” family structure at its core.
