‘Furious 7’ Star Ludacris Says Paul Walker Jokes During Justin Bieber Roast ‘Weren’t Appropriate’ (Video)

Some of the gags at the Comedy Central roast “were over the line” says the late actor’s co-star

Ludacris thought most of the upcoming “Comedy Central roast of Justin Bieber” was hilarious, but some of the dark humor went too far for his tastes.

“There were some Paul Walker jokes that I didn’t feel like were appropriate,” Ludacris told HuffPost Live on Friday, referring to his late “Furious 7” co-star.

“I was told and promised that they would edit those out. Some of those were over the line.”

As TheWrap previously reported, the distasteful gags about Walker — who was killed in a fiery car wreck in Santa Clarita, California in November, 2013 — will be edited out of the show when it airs on Monday.

While roasts aren’t typically for the faint-hearted, even 21-year-old Bieber said he was disappointed by the Walker references at a press conference following the Mar. 14 taping at Sony Pictures in Culver City, California.

As well as appearing opposite Walker as Tej Parker in multiple franchise installments since 2001’s “2 Fast 2 Furious,” the rapper-actor also has a long history with Bieber, and was featured on his first hit, “Baby,” back in 2010.

“I think he went through adolescence,” he told HuffPo about the mischievous Canadian pop star. “You can’t judge but so much when we’re looking at it from an adult perspective and we’re watching him literally grow up. So you have to expect him to go through some things … We all make mistakes.”

“Furious 7” hits theaters April 3 and Ludacris‘ latest album, “Ludaversal,” will be available on iTunes and store shelves March 3.

The “Comedy Central Roast of Justin Bieber” airs March 30 at 10 p.m.
