FX Orders ‘Bronx Warrants’ From ‘Rescue Me’ Producers

Comedy pilot from Denis Leary and Jim Serpico revolves around errant warrant detectives in the Bronx

FX has order the comedy pilot "Bronx Warrants" from "Rescue Me" producers Denis Leary and Jim Serpico, returning to business with a team they worked with for seven years on the firefighter drama.

The pilot follows a group of errant detectives in the Bronx who pursue people with outstanding warrants. Because they get bonuses for every "body" they bring in, they care more about getting rich than getting justice.

"Bronx Warrants" was created by Dean Lorey ("Arrested Development," "My Wife and Kids"), who is also an executive producer. Leary and Serpico are executive producers and "Rescue Me" vet Tom Sellitti is co-executive producer. Their Apostle Pictures produced "Rescue Me."

"I speak for everyone at Apostle when I say it's great to be welcomed back into the FX family where we hope to make a laugh-out-loud half hour and — even more importantly — use the network's juice to sneak into the Emmy gifting suites and come away with many bags of shiny swag,” said Leary.

The series is based on the real life exploits of co-producers David Joglar and Richard Wetzel, and is produced by FX Productions.

"We've enjoyed a great relationship with Denis, Jim and Tom through seven years of Rescue Me and I believe they found the perfect project to continue that relationship," said Eric Schrier, head of series development for FX. "Dean Lorey has taken this unique police squad and created a hilarious and surprising world of characters and situations."
