A “Game of Thrones”-themed ice hotel has opened in northern Finland, featuring a restaurant, chapel and overnight accommodations all designed with “Game of Thrones” decor.
The SnowVillage is an annual construction project of Lapland Hotels and spans 20,000 square meters in the Arctic village of Kittilä. This year, the company partnered with HBO Nordic and recruited European artists to create ice sculpted versions of a direwolf, the Hall of Faces, the Night King and the Iron Throne.
The hotel is open to daily visitors and overnight guests until April 8.
One night on an ice bed at the hotel starts at 196 Euro (about $240) and run up to as much as 539 Euro (about $660) for a suite. Luckily for budget-conscious travelers, the hotel encourages guests not to stay for more than one night because of the frigid temperature.
“But be fast – Summer is coming.”
