Riley and Maya are having a tough time adjusting to high school in the two-part Season 3 premiere of “Girl Meets World.”
In this exclusive scene (above) from Part 2 of the episode “Girl Meets High School,” Riley (Rowan Blanchard) and Maya (Sabrina Carpenter) are sticking together even as their other friends seem to have abandoned them.
After being told to sit in “the hole” (an opening between levels at their new Abigail Adams High School) by a group of seniors, Maya is still struggling to understand why they need to follow their orders, but sticks by her best friend — who’s upset, but not upset enough to turn down grape juice.
Creator and showrunner Michael Jacobs previewed the new season for TheWrap in March, setting up a graduation in subject matter as the kids transition from middle to high school.
“I think there was a big shift between Year 1 and Year 2. I think there will be a bigger shift between Year 2 and Year 3 … I think high school is the most confusing, awful, terrible and ultimately — if you do it right — wonderful springboard into college and the rest of your life,” he said.
“These are the episodes I want you to remember and we’re trying to do our best.”
As TheWrap reported, the two-part Season 3 premiere episode will be split up, with “Girl Meets High School Part One” airing on Friday, June 3 at 8:30 p.m. ET, and part two airing Sunday, June 5 at 8:30 p.m. ET.
