Gunpowder & Sky has partnered with direct-to-consumer studio Supergravity Pictures, along with Jerome Sable and Nicholas Musurca for a thriller set in the world of skater and extreme street performers, it was announced Tuesday.

Sable is set to direct based on a script he is writing with Musurca. The duo is best known for the Sundance award-winning horror musical short “The Legend of Beaver Dam” and their ABCs of Death anthology segment, “V is for Vacation.”

The partnership marks the first joint production between Gunpowder & Sky and Supergravity Pictures, a company in which the former is invested in.

Plot details of the thriller are being kept under wraps, but the story follows a small-town skate crew who are obsessed with becoming Internet-famous.

“We’re thrilled to have found partners who are enabling our depravity as we try to push the boundaries of horror,” Sable said.

“Honestly, when people see the movie we’re making, it will be great to have collaborators to share the blame with us,” Musurca added.

Gunpowder & Sky is a global studio that creates and distributes video content independent of form, genre or platform. It was founded by Van Toffler, former CEO of Viacom’s Music Group, Floris Bauer, former global head of corporate development and strategy endemol, and Otter Media.

Supergravity recently released the Justin Chon and Kevun Wu comedy titled “Man Up,” the thriller “The Chosen” starring Kian Lawley, and the documentary “Gayby Baby.”
