Hall & Oates will be hitting the road with their silky-smooth pop stylings again in May. At least, that’s the word from Fred Armisen and Bill Hader, a.k.a. The Blue Jean Committee, who broke the news Tuesday via a tart-tongued video announcement.

In character as the fictitious ’70s soft-rock duo The Blue Jean Committee, the “Documentary Now!” pair threw shade at the “She’s Gone” hitmakers in the announcement.

“What do you think of when you think of the ’70s? When you think of beautiful harmonies, when you think of a duo who sings together to make hit songs? You think of the Blue Jean Committee and that’s who we are,” Armisen, in character as Gene Allen, says in the video.

“Who you might think of fifth or eighth is Daryl Hall and John Oates. You know, who used to open for us?” Hader (nom du soft rock: Clark Honus) adds. “Who we used to kick around? Daryl Hall! John Oates!”

The summer tour, which includes guests Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings, along with Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, kicks off May 13 at Gexa Energy Pavilion in Dallas, with dates in Austin, Atlanta, Charlotte, North Carolina and other yacht-rock hotspots.

Tickets for Hall & Oates’ tour go on sale Feb 19, via Live Nation. Until then, watch the Blue Jean Committee work through their jealousy issues in the video.
