HBO had a lot more people check in to the Season 2 premiere of “White Lotus.” The network reported that 1.5 million viewers tuned in to the Sunday night episode across HBO Max and linear channels, citing Nielsen and other third-party data.

That’s a 63% increase in viewership over the show’s first season premiere, which garnered 944,000 cross-platform viewers. It also represents a 35% increase over the average 1.1 million viewers for a debut night episode of the series’ first season.

According to HBO, Season 1 went on to average 9.3 million viewers. It was also among HBO Max’s top five shows last week as viewers reacquainted themselves — or watched the show anew.

Season 1 went on to get 13 nominations and won 10 of them, including Outstanding Limited of Anthology Series, Outstanding Supporting trophies for Jennifer Coolidge and Murray Bartlett, and Outstanding Writing and Directing wins for the comedy’s creator, Mike White.

“White Lotus” debuts new episodes Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on HBO and HBO Max.
