“Sexual is so limiting. Beautiful is so limiting. There’s got to be another word,” Mirren told TheWrap’s Sharon Waxman.

Before a room of more than 120 women in entertainment, media, theater and digital, Mirren, said it’s “f-cking outrageous” that 37-year-old Maggie Gyllenhaal was recently told she was too old to play the lover of a 55-year-old man.

She said appearances can deceive and her stellar career comes with its share of jitters. “I’m frightened all the time, of everything, really,” she said. “The point is not to be afraid of the fact that you’re afraid. You get on with it.”
