‘Homeland’ Final Season: Everyone Thinks Carrie’s a Russian Spy in New Trailer (Video)

TCA 20: Claire Danes-led spy drama returns for its eighth final season on Feb. 9

Showtime released a new trailer for the long-awaited final season of “Homeland” at the Television Critics Association winter press tour in Pasadena, California, on Monday.

Claire Danes and Mandy Patinkin return as counterterrorism specialists for the eighth and final season, which sees Carrie (Danes) suffering some trauma and falling under suspicion from the U.S. government after spending time as a Russian prisoner.

The only person who trusts her is Saul (Patinkin), now National Security Advisor to the newly ascendant President Warner (Beau Bridges), who asks Carrie to walk with him into the lion’s den – one last time.

Along with Danes and Patinkin, the final season stars Maury Sterling, Linus Roache and Costa Ronin, with Nimrat Kaur and Numan Acar also returning from Season 4 in series regular roles. Sam Trammell and Hugh Dancy also join the show for Season 8.

Produced by Fox 21 Television Studios, “Homeland” was adapted from an Israeli format by Alex Gansa and Howard Gordon. Along with Gansa and Gordon, executive producers for Season 8 include Chip Johannessen, Debora Cahn, Lesli Linka Glatter, Patrick Harbinson, Claire Danes, Michael Klick, Avi Nir, Ran Telem and Gideon Raff.

“Homeland” Season 8 debuts Sunday, Feb. 9 on Showtime.
