The Television Critics Association press tour can get dull sometimes. Critics from across the country ask a lot of the same questions, and panelists promoting their shows try gamely to keep things moving and fun.

Nikki Glaser, host of Comedy Central’s new show about sex, “Not Safe,” found herself in one of those awkward moments between provocative inquiries on Wednesday. So she answered a question no one had asked.

“Yes, I’ve done anal,” she announced.

And with that, everyone woke up. Glaser seized the moment to hype the show, which seeks to demystify and destigmatize everything from foot fetishes to penis pics.

She also talked about the challenges of hookups after she quit drinking: “I don’t know if anyone here has had sober sex before?” she inquired. “It’s impossible.”

She closed out by explaining a little more about the anal.

“I didn’t like set out to do it. … It wasn’t like my bucket list. I was like I’ll never do it… and then I did coke,” she joked.
